Fred: Known to his fans as the Birdman, and to his Harry Potter-loving fans as the Birdman of Azkaban, Andrew Bird has been making quite a scene for himself in the pop/indy rock world that the kids are all listening to nowadays. Welcome to the show, Mr. Bird. Andrew: Thank you. Fred: Now Andy -- can I call you Andy? Andy...I think my favorite song by you is that one about the spider, eight-legs. Its kinda a weird song. Andrew: I'm not sure which one you mean. Fred: You know, [singing] Eight-legs....why do you do that way? You know you'll have to pay-- Andrew: Actually, its called Feet-lips-- Fred: Well, that's a pretty silly name for a spider, but I guess its your song. Now, I hear you've appeared on a children's show as Dr. Stringz. Andrew: Yeah, it was on Jack's Big Music Show. Fred: I was doing a little research before the interview and I found out you don't even have a medical degree. Were you aware that impersonating a doctor is a criminal offense? You're a pretty brazen lad to do that on national TV. Andrew: First off, it was my character that was a doctor, not me. Secondly -- Fred: You tell the judge that, and I'll be hoping that the truth will come out in the end. Best of luck at the trial. Now, we're almost out of time, but the last thing I wanted to talk about was something I know you've heard before. The whistling. I've heard you on some of those CDs...you can whistle in tune along with your music, and this just cracks me up every time I hear it. That's an amazing talent. Andrew: Thank you Fred: Now I have a friend that can fart the Star-spangled Banner...I don't know if your band needs anyone like him or not, but I told him I'd ask. Andrew: No. That's disgusting. Fred: Andy Birdman, ladies and gentlemen. That's all the time we have for today. I hope you can catch him at one of his shows. I hear its like a circus act with him playing all sorts of crazy instruments. I'm Fred Willard, and I'll see you next time.
