My queries started life as a way to do daily calculations for bulk detection. Simple mathematical formulae, expressed in flawed linguistics, evolved from a few eighty character lines to pages. Then, they became a cryptogram, so that my day began with redicyphering, editing, jotting on my worksheet. It became necessary to abstract it all away; to write a query builder from the query itself. It was a cheap and forward trick, but it worked. From the post-gestalt vantage point, it is not hard to imagine what happened next. The query engine, the worksheets, began to rewrite itself. I did not know what awaited me, but I was aware that when I first closed the loop outside of myself, that an event would occur.
